In Spring and Summer 2025 we are planning a number of workshops to support musicians and spoken word artists do what they do best. Here we'll be posting details of "Songwriting", "How to Record Yourself" and Introduction to Podcasting workshops in the coming months.

All workshops will take place along the lovely Adur riverbank in West Sussex. Whilst the musical world can often be heavily male dominated, we at Long Way Home Productions are highly committed to providing a friendly and safe place for women, non-binary folk and members of the LGBTQ+ community. If you have any questions about this please do get in touch. The approach to the venue has some steps and uneven surfaces. Do shout if you need any support or have any questions.
Songwriting Workshop - 25th May 2025 - 10.00 to 16.30 £40
This will be an encouraging and supportive workshop for songwriters at all levels - newbies welcome. Bring your instrument and a pad, make some new things and give and receive the support of other group members. You can expect....
- an approach to sharing material thats based on encouragement and building on your strengths and your individual style.
- a small group - maximum 8 people.
- to spend time to hang out in an exciting space overlooking the RSPB Adur Nature Reserve - great for twitchers
- a space to work on your material and share it with other songwriters
- to be introduced to exercises and new approaches to gently invite you to step away from your usual way of doing things
- teas and coffees of all denominations and biscuits!
- to meet new friends
Phil Jones will be the workshop leader. Phil has 50 years experience of playing and performing music, many years of writing for Hatful of Rain, for his solo projects and for the theatre. Phil has been facilitating workshops in public and voluntary sector organisations for 30 years.
